Which airlines are flying to Cancun now? A list of flight schedules from American Airlines, Air Transat, Sunwing Airlines, Soutwest and more carriers flying in June to the most popular vacation destinations.


With the following post we compiled a frequently updated list of airlines and their planned flights to Mexico, Cancun, Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta and other popular Caribbean destinations in June 2020.


This post, including routes and frequency, remains subject to change due to the dynamic nature of COVID-19. We recommend to bookmark this page since we will update this article frequently.

Airlines offering flights in June

AEROMEXICO

The following destinations* are currently scheduled for flights operated by Aeromexico AM/AMX

Vancouver, Montreal, Toronto, Chicago, New York, Miami, Houston, Los Angeles, Amsterdam, Paris, Madrid, Shanghai, Seoul


Non of the above mentioned flights are direct flights to Cancun, but the popular Caribbean vacation destination can be reached with a layover in Mexico City.



As of June 1st, the reactivation of domestic flights will begin gradually, and increasingly. There will be more frequent openings to the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, Central and South America, as well as Europe and Asia.


Explica.com states, there will be 17 weekly flights from Mexico City to Cancun starting from the 1st to the 15th of June, increasing to 22 weekly flights from 16th to 30th of June, mainly during the weekends.


Although routes to Houston, New York and Los Angeles remained open, flights to Chicago will resume on June 1st, and to Miami, San Antonio and Orlando on June 15th. However, destinations in Austin, Dallas, Denver, Las Vegas, San Francisco and Seattle will remain suspended until June 30th.


June 1st operations from Mexico City to Europe will include one weekly flight to Amsterdam, Paris and Madrid, which will increase from one to two flights per week. A third flight is planned for the second half of June. As for Barcelona and London operations will not be resuming until July 1st.

VOLARIS

The following destinations* are scheduled for flights operated by Volaris Y4/VOI

Seattle, Portland, Chicago O'hare, Chicago Midway, Denver, Houston, Sacramento, Oakland, San Jose, Fresno, Los Angeles, Ontario


Non of the above mentioned flights are direct flights to Cancun, but the popular Caribbean vacation destination can be reached with a layover in Mexico City, Tijuana, Monterrey, Aguascalientes, Silao and Guadalajara.



The Mexican airline confirmed that it maintains its routes from Ciudad de Mexico (CDMX), Guadalajara, Tijuana and Puebla to Cancun, with a daily frequency. However, at the International Airport of Mexico City (AICM), the airline is planning four daily flights over the next two weeks and increases these to 10 starting June 16th.


INTERJET

There are no international flights scheduled for the next 7 days

Interjet will increase flight frequency of the International Airport of Mexico City (AICM) to Cancun airport from one daily flight to two, starting next Monday. For the second half of June the airline will increase its flights between the country's capital and Cancun to 16 daily, according to its website.


VIVAAEROBUS

New York, Chicago, Nashville, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Houston


Non of the above mentioned flights are direct flights to Cancun, but the popular Caribbean vacation destination can be reached with a layover in Mexico City, Tijuana, Mexicali, Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Reynosa, Torreon, Tampico, Monterrey, Aguascalientes, Silao and Guadalajara, Queretaro, Puebla, Toluca, Veracruz, Tuxtla and Villahermosa.


COZUMEL

Updated on June 9th, 2020 There are currently no commercial flights scheduled.


CHETUMAL

The International Airport (AIC) of Chetumal will reactivate operation of its flight activities as of June 1st with commercial flights to Cancun and Mexico City.


AIR CANADA

Air Canada announces a new summer schedule offering customers a wide choice of destinations for safe travel this summer and expands goodwill policy. The schedule will increase from 34 routes in May to 58 routes in June, with more routes added in August and September. Scheduled flights in June to the Caribbean are as follows:



AIR TRANSAT

Air Transat is offering a new flight schedule to more than 20 destinations in Europe, the South, the United States and Canada


"The Canada Border Services Agency is announcing that as of June 8, 2020 23:59 EDT, foreign nationals who are immediate family members of Canadian citizens and permanent residents, and who do not have COVID-19 or exhibit any signs or symptoms of COVID-19, or who do not have reason to believe they have COVID-19, will be exempt from the prohibition on entry to Canada if entering to be with an immediate family member for a period of at least 15 days. Foreign nationals who are admitted into Canada pursuant to this exemption must quarantine for 14 days."

SOUTHWEST AIRLINES

The following destinations* are scheduled for flights operated by Southwest Airlines WN/SWA

Southwest continues to monitor conditions in 14 international destinations on the airline's network map and updates its operating plans.


The airline currently plans to resume operations to Mexico and the Caribbean via Cancun, San Josedel Cabo/Los Cabos, Havana, Montego Bay and Nassau on July 1, 2020 (subject to changes). Service to the airline's other international destinations will be resumed until government restrictions are relaxed.


SUNWING AIRLINES

WESTJET

UPDATE!

From July 5 through August 4, 2020, WestJet will offer operations to 45 destinations including 39 in Canada, five in the U.S. and one in Mexico starting on July 11th. That is an increase of about 100% compared to the number of flights from June, but is still down by 76 per cent from July in 2019.


Cancun: Toronto > starting July 11 (once per week)



LUFTHANSA

The German airline returns to Mexico City CDMX on June 4th with 3 flights per week, although the connection to Cancun is still pending.




IBERIA

They will resume long-haul operations in the first week of July with destinations limited to Havana, Miami, Mexico City, Costa Rica, Santo Domingo, and other destinations not defined yet in South America. Currently Iberia is only operating trans-Atlantic flights to Miami, Bogota and Lima.




BRITISH AIRWAYS

The following destinations are scheduled for flights operated by BA/BAW



BA is not offering any direct flights to Cancun, but the popular Caribbean vacation destination can be reached with a layover in Mexico City.


The airline said it regularly evaluated its routes "based on where customers tell us they want to travel". It was reported BA would be cutting up to 12,000 jobs because of a collapse in business brought on by the corona-virus pandemic. According to Routes Online, British Airways is planning the several long-haul operations in June.



AIR FRANCE

Updated on June 8th, 2020

The following destinations are scheduled for flights operated by Air France AF/AFR


According to Business Traveler the airline says that it intends to gradually resume its flights, with an increase in the number of frequencies and destinations, especially to/from metropolitan France, the French Overseas Departments, and Europe. The increases are subject to travel restrictions being lifted. Meanwhile, the route to Cancun continues to be suspended.


KLM

The Dutch airline has five flights per week scheduled until the end of May on the Mexico City - Amsterdam route. From Monday 15 June to Sunday 21 June inclusive, KLM will fly from Schiphol to 39 intercontinental destinations, subject to changes.




AVIANCA of Colombia, the second largest airline in Latin America declares itself bankrupt. Both LATAM and AVIANCA said they will continue flying as they restructure their debts in bankruptcy court.
