We have taken the following actions in response to the dynamic COVID-19 situation in order to allow our guests to worry less and be more flexible in regards to their travel decisions.

Flexible Cancellation Policies

Guided by our goal to provide you with a worry-free experience, we temporarily adopt our rules to give you the flexibility to make the right travel decisions at that time: 


All existing and future reservations for 2020 and 2021 can be changed or canceled free of charge up to 24 hours (48 hours for big private groups with 10+ guests) before your scheduled tour. No-shows will be charged the full price.

Providing a safe and clean environment for our guests and our team is always and always has been a top priority for Kay Tours Mexico. We continue to uphold our commitment to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness  and want you to feel home and at ease when traveling with Kay Tours Mexico.


Kay Tours Mexico has worked thoroughly on the "4C - Action Plan", which focuses on the safety and well-being of colleagues and guests in a COVID-19 world and beyond. 


The 4 "C's" stand for: 

  • Commitment 

  • Cleanliness 

  • Care 

  • Comfort

The Commitment includes plans for operational-level health and sanitization.  Visit 4C - Action Plan to learn more about the steps Kay Tours Mexico is taking to further enhance our existing rigorous protocols.

The Cleanliness, in addition, is assured by a comprehensive COVID-19 guide for the Kay Tours Mexico team and associated partners, detailing how to protect against virus transmission (including implementation of hand disinfection stations and frequent cleaning of high contact areas) and procedures in case of suspected or confirmed cases among our colleagues or guests.

We Care and believe in responsible and safe travel, with vigilance and follow protocols, which we have developed, taking into account guidelines and information provided by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the 'Safe Travels': Global Protocols offered by the WTTC in combination with guidelines from the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) and other leading organizations and experts in the tourism industry.

4C - Action Plan

Limited Tour Capacity

People can catch COVID-19 from others who have the virus. Experts have been urging people to practice voluntary “social distancing.” and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended against any gatherings of bigger groups. ​


In order to offer our guest the highest level of protection, and to lower the risk of contamination we have reduced our tour capacities to only individual groups. We are temporarily suspending normal operations of all SMALL GROUP experiences until further notice. We continue to closely monitor the COVID-19 situation and will communicate updates regarding anticipated timing of reactivating SMALL GROUP experiences.

We would like to point out that our guests are always welcome to create their own group from the same hotel. In case you are making holiday acquaintances and feel comfortable with the idea of going on an excursion together, we will of course be happy to take you. Often you will find like-minded people in FB groups of the hotel or in the resort on site.

Waiver Updates

We have been handling digital waivers since 2019 in order to reach our goal to reduce paper and being a sustainable tour company. Signing our digital waiver at the comfort of your home, on a laptop, tablet or your phone does not only saves paper, it also prevents the transmission of potential diseases, because their will be no physical waiver form signed with pen and paper.  

We are sending our digital waiver forms within our confirmation email. Please have each participant signed his own waiver. It's quick and easy! The email can be forwarded, so that all participants have signed before the start of the trip. Minors can be added to the parents waiver. Just click on the link in your booking details or the payment confirmation email you have received after you made your reservation. 


Due to the outbreak of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), Kay Tours Mexico is doing everything we can to protect our guests, our community and our team. To this extent, Kay Tours Mexico will be following the guidelines and information provided by the World Health Organization (WHO)  with regard to social distancing practices and sanitation.


We have made changes to our standard waiver and we kindly ask that our guests disclose their health history and continue to implement these sanitation and disinfection procedures. 

Waiver Updates

Snorkel Gear

Our snorkel gear has always been washed with disinfectant, brushes and sponges after each tour. We have always considered this a crucial part of our operation and are aware about that the reuse of snorkel gear, like cutlery in a restaurant, will be an even more sensitive topic.


Our snorkel equipment is professional gear and we will continue to wash and sanitize it with highest attention to every detail. The clean equipment will be kept in closed boxes during transportation and mouthpieces are kept separately in an alcohol solution until being used. 


In order to make our guests more comfortable and to offer alternatives we've decided to add the same, but new quality (single) snorkels and snorkel sets (mask + snorkel) for purchase to our web shop.  


Other tour operators will offer single use snorkels, which are stiff and uncomfortable and usually only contribute to an unpleasant snorkel experience and the pollution of our environment, because they get thrown away. 


Kay Tours Mexico is taking a different approach by offering quality and professional snorkel gear at wholesale prices, so you and your family can enjoy your own gear in your tour with us and have it ready at future snorkel trips.
