What to do at Christmas in the Mexican Caribbean?

We all know that season of the year when the weather is so cold that you just can't go outside... well, not we all. Some of us are waiting for that old man wearing red clothes with black boots in the beachy heaven.

Yes, I have spoken to Santa Claus the past year when he arrived Playa del Carmen and he told me why he prefers you to wait for him in the Mexican Caribbean.

  • The weather. To be honest, after being the whole year in a cold city like Chicago, Moscow or Astana, the only thing most people want for Christmas is go to the beach. Mexico has many beautiful beaches, but non is like the ones in the Mayan Riviera. With an average temperature of 81ᵒ F, even Santa Claus would like to spend the whole winter in the beaches the Mexican Caribbean has for you.

  • The beach. It's winter, but it doesn't mean you can't get a tan skin. The state of Quintana Roo, Mexico, has many beautiful beaches where you can enjoy a nice cocktail or just get tan. The most beautiful ones are located in Akumal, Tulum, Playa del Carmen and Cancun. If you are a sand-and-sun lover, I can tell you, you are going to fall in love with the white-sand beaches Quinata Roo has.

  • The history. If you're not into the beachy style, but instead you're that kind of people who love learning about what the history has to teach us, you can come to the Mayan Riviera and visit the archaeological sites the Yucatan Peninsula has, just like Chichen Itza, Tulum or Coba - the main mayan cities in Mexico.

  • The fun. No matter how old you are, the Mexican Caribbean has something for you to enjoy - even if you're a little 3-years-old kid.

  • For the kids. There are many resorts that have a gameroom where they can spend as many hours as they want, or can go to the beach to play volleyball, soccer, go swimmming, build sand-castles or do whatever their imagination could create. But remember you don't want to be on the Santa Claus' Black List.

  • For those teenagers under 18. You can go shopping to the malls Playa del Carmen and Cancun have - where you can find many international brands, or can play tennis or golf in Playa del Carmen (or if your resort has a tennis or golf courtyard, good for you!).

  • The over-18 guys. I personally love being in this cattegory because we practically can do anything: go drinking, shopping, eating, getting tan, party.. or whatever! as long as it's legal.

  • For the family. There are many tour agencies where you can book a tour (not as good as us, obviously) and visit some places this beautiful country has to show you.

  • The food. Do I have to say how yummy the mexican food is? Really? Oh, by the way, Mr. Claus told me that, if you can't come to the Mayan Riviera, at least you can leave some tamales with Horchata water instead of cookies with milk for him. He said, in his words, "That would be awesome".

  • It's Mexico. Isn't it a good reason? I mean, seriously?

There are countless reasons to spend the holidays in Mexico with the ones you love, and if we can make it better with an Exclusive Tour, just ask us.

Kay Tours' team wishes you Happy Holidays and New Year's 2016!
