Is hotel pickup included?

Yes. Round-trip transportation from your hotel is included for the published zones (Cancún Hotel Zone, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, Puerto Morelos and most Riviera Maya resorts).

Minimum age for this tour is all ages. It is a semi-private experience with a small group (max 8–12 guests).

What should I bring?

Swimsuit (preferably worn underneath), towel, sandals, sunglasses, camera, and an optional hat. Biodegradable sunscreen may be used only if applied at the hotel (not allowed on board or other water bodies). UV-protective clothing, such as a rash guard, is also recommended. Bring cash for gratuities and/or souvenirs (optional).

Is the guide a local Mexican?

Yes. All Kay Tours Mexico guides are certified local Mexicans, born and raised in the Yucatán Peninsula. They speak English and Spanish (additional languages on request).

What is included in a catamaran tour?

Round-trip private transportation from your hotel, the catamaran sailing experience, snorkeling at a designated reef with full gear, lunch on board, open bar (beer, soft drinks and water), bilingual crew and all port fees.

Is the catamaran private or shared?

Our standard catamaran tours use a semi-private model: private transportation to/from your hotel, then a shared catamaran (max ~30 guests). Fully private catamaran charters are available on request.

Are food and drinks really included?

Yes. A freshly prepared lunch is served on board, along with an open bar of beer, soft drinks, purified water and sometimes margaritas or rum punch. Premium spirits are not included.

Is the catamaran tour kid-friendly?

Yes. Children 5 years and up are welcome. Child pricing applies up to age 11. Infants under 5 generally sail free but should be confirmed at booking for safety equipment.

Will I get seasick on a catamaran?

Accepted Answer

Catamarans are very stable thanks to their dual hulls, so seasickness is rare. If you are sensitive to motion, take medication an hour before boarding and sit toward the middle of the boat.
